Kindervelt Work - Marketing Intern
Kindervelt is an organization composed of neighborhood or other common-interest groups joined together by a central, city-wide board of trustees. It is the largest auxiliary of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) and is recognized as one of Greater Cincinnati’s outstanding volunteer organizations.
Led a visual and content refresh of Kindervelt’s annual report, building on previous years by incorporating photography, a more dynamic color palette, and original blurbs from each group highlighting their work throughout the year. These updates strengthened transparency, storytelling, and connection with members and donors while maintaining brand consistency.
I developed the concept for an interactive denim pocket memory quilt as a featured fundraising experience for the Denim & Diamonds gala. Guests were invited to donate to specific denim pockets in honor or memory of children impacted by leukemia and related diseases, creating a meaningful keepsake while encouraging additional donations. I helped lead the planning, marketing, and execution of the initiative, transforming individual contributions into a collaborative quilt that became a visual centerpiece of the event. The project generated $5,103 in additional funds for the Advanced Leukemia Therapies & Research Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, demonstrating how creative event marketing can strengthen attendee engagement while driving fundraising success.
Designed branded sponsorship tier materials and a Phone-A-Thon tracking sheet in Canva using Kindervelt’s visual identity to support corporate sponsorship outreach and volunteer fundraising efforts. Focused on clear information hierarchy, usability, and brand consistency to improve donor communication and engagement.
Designed a “Save the Date” promotional graphic for Kindervelt’s Denim & Diamonds fundraising event using Canva and established brand elements. Focused on creating a visually engaging layout that combined event branding, clear event details, and themed design elements to support early event awareness and attendance promotion.
To increase event attendance and sustained engagement, I developed Event Bingo, a gamified initiative that encouraged members to attend multiple Kindervelt events throughout the year. Participants received a bingo card and earned a square for each event they attended, with the incentive of winning a prize after completing five events. The concept leveraged friendly competition and reward-based motivation to turn attendance into an interactive experience, driving repeat participation and strengthening connections across the organization.
